1- Previous steps.
In this guide we will show you the first steps to start mining cryptocurrency. You will see how simple it is.
The first thing you have to do is set up your graphic cards to be able to mine. Normally each graphics card assembler has its program to do this, but after trying several the one that works best is that of MSI, and it works for all cards, it does not matter if yours is Gigabyte, Asus or any other assembly company.
This program it´s afterburner. Download it from https://msi.com/page/afterburner. Before installing afterburner and use MSI on your computer, you have to uninstall another programs of this style to avoid conflicts.
What we must do is to limit the maximum power of the graphics (this is essential for long useful life) and increase a bit the frequency of the processor and the memories of the graphic cards. Each card model needs a configuration. You will find a lot of information, looking in Google for information about overclock for mining and the model of your graphic card. For example for GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 I use the configuration shown in the image (Power Limit: 74%, Core Clock: +140 and Memory Clock: +555).
To change the crypto currencies obtained by euros or dollars, it is necessary that you register in a web of change. A very good one is Coinbase. Withdrawals come to your bank account the next day, at most it arrives in two days. The commissions are very good and its website is very simple to use. Also now have a promotion, and if you register with the following link you will receive $ 10 for the first $ 100 you buy or sell in digital currencies www.coinbase.com.
2- Program installation.
Download the latest version of CryptoMinero and unzip the program into the folder of your choice.
Enter the folder where you unzipped the program and execute CryptoMinero.exe
The first thing you should do is read the license and accept the conditions to be able to use the program.
Then you must download the engines that are responsible for making the calculations for the algorithms. Currently the program uses two: ccminer(OPTIONAL) and bminer(REQUIRED). Click on the links in the program, and the download page of each of them will open in the browser.
We have decided to use these because they are the most widespread, for their good performance and also for being open source. You can download the source code and compile it yourself, or download the already compiled executables. Here I want to make a clarification, some antivirus detect that they have viruses or Trojans (that happens with all the mining engines), but as you can check yourself the source code, it is up to you whether to install those programs or not. If for whatever reason you do not want to use one of them, the cryptocurrencies that are mined with that engine will be deactivated.
Once downloaded the engines, unzip each one in your folder.
Only the files that are shown are needed from each engine.
The contents of the engine ccminer unzip it and copy it to your folder as shown in the image.
When you have done this, close it in the engine download window, in order to continue.
The first time it is executed, the program makes a series of configurations and tests to ensure its correct operation.
It detects how many cards we have and will test the graphics cards in various algorithms to calculate the profitability of each of them.
This is necessary so that the program can know when it is more profitable to mine one crypto currency instead of another. This process lasts a few minutes, time that you can take advantage of to configure the program and create your accounts in the pools.
3- Registration in the pools.
In order to receive your work and your payments you must register in two pools. A pool is a place where a group of miners come together to gather the power of calculation of their equipment, and to be able to mine the blocks of the criptodivisas having more possibilities to discover blocks. Later, in other tutorials I will explain all this.
The program works with three pools, but only requires registration in two of them:
Let´s briefly explain how to register and how each pool works. In the first of them, suprnova, you must open an account for each of the coins that you have here. The most profitable and used by the program in this pool are: Komodo (KMD), ZenCash (ZEN) and BitcoinPrivate (BTCP). If you check the program to undermine these crypto currencies you must create an account for each of them.
Remember that it is very important that you always use the same username in both this pool and the miningpoolhub pool.
Once you have created the first account in suprnova you will have to put the user name you chose and the API key in the program CryptoMinero
In the Graphs and Statistics tab, click on the suprnova button, paste the API key in its place and close it.
In this pool you must add the workers manually, putting the name and a password and giving "add new worker". For each computer where you have installed the program you will have to give it a name that you will put here and in the CryptoMinero Worker field.
Now sign up for miningpoolhub. It will only be necessary to create an account, and you will be able to mine all the currencies available in this pool.
Remember that you must use the same username in both this pool and the suprnova.
Once the account is created in miningpoolhub you will have to put the API key in the program CryptoMinero.
Again, in the Graphs and Statistics tab, click on the miningpoolhub button, paste the API key in this window and close it.
4- Last configuration steps.
If you want to activate the option to see the status of your miners and their statistics remotely, and receive personalized notifications of incidents that may occur with your miners, you will have to register on the web and put the API key that is generated in the program CryptoMinero. Press "shift + insert" in the API box to paste it.
And if you want to receive notifications from the program CryptoMinero for any incident you must put your email in the Notification Email box.
There are some crypto currencies that to be able to mine them you have to create a wallet of that currency and put a wallet number in the account configuration.
Now we only need the last step, and that is to select which coins we want to mine. Here I leave a capture of which I mine and recommend to select. To mine the criptodivisas that I recommend you must create a Zcash wallet. In suprnova you must open an account for each currency (ZenCash, BitcoinPrivate, Komodo and Sibcoin), without forgetting to add the workers.
At miningpoolhub with the account that we have created you will have many cryptocurrencies to mine.
5- Final notes.
You are all ready to mine, click on "Apply Changes" in "Settings" and restart the program. If you have followed all the indicated steps, you only need to click on ON and start generating cryptocurrency.
To make sure that, if the computer was restarted due to an update or another reason, the equipment continues to undermine, it is advisable to follow these three steps:
- Create a shortcut of CryptoMinero.exe, press "win + r" and type in "shell:startup", then copy shortcut into startup folder.
- Check the auto-start box in the configuration of CryptoMinero.
- Remove the need to log in on Windows. Search for tutorials on Google, it´s not very complicated to do it.
As a last comment, tell you that the pool of miningpoolhub, has the option to change the coins mined in the pool by another of your choice. By default it is disabled.
To do this, you must select to which cryptocurrency you want to change the ones you mine, and you give "Set Auto Exchange Coin".
If you select other than bitcoin, you must indicate it in the program, so that it correctly performs the calculations and income graphs.
